 “Basketball Illawarra Boosts Focus on Growth and Participation”

 Both Basketball NSW and Basketball Illawarra have a renewed focus of growth and participation and to help achieved their goals Basketball Illawarra have proudly announced the appointment of Jaydon Beveridge as their new Basketball Development Officer.

 Jaydon’s primary functions will include the development and execution of Basketball training programs and camps. Jaydon will also be responsible for delivering programs, either developed in house, or in conjunction with Basketball Australia and Basketball NSW, to schools in the Illawarra with the ultimate aim being to increase participation in Basketball and support Basketball’s growth in the Illawarra.

 Jaydon has a strong history in Basketball, both as a player and a coach. He has served the Association as Court Supervisor, Development Coach and is also Head Coach of the Hawks – Southern Junior League U/14-2 Men’s Team this year.

 As a player, Jaydon has a strong resume at representative level. Since Under 12 level, Jaydon has consistently played for his State/Territory, most recently representing Western Australia in the U/20 National Championships. He is also a qualified referee, was a member of the National Intensive Training Program (NITP), selected to represent WA at the Friendship Games in China (2014), was selected for the Nike All- Asia Basketball Camp (2016) and was also in 2016, selected to attend the Australian Prospects Basketball Camp Centre of Excellence.

 Basketball Illawarra Human Resources Director Cameron Paxton stated “We are really looking forward to Jaydon joining our senior representative program when he recovers from injury in 2018”.

 “We feel extremely fortunate to have someone of the calibre of Jaydon joining our team and we know he will make an outstanding contribution to our Association and indeed Basketball in general”.
