The Illawarra Basketball Aussie Hoops Program will become one of the most acknowledged Junior Basketball Development Programs in NSW within three years of its commencement. Not only for the development of its participants, but also the recognition of the organizations efforts to promote healthy lifestyle activities among primary school aged children.

One of the things that will define the Illawarra Basketball Aussie Hoops program from other sporting programs is that it will aim to incorporate skill development and fun for all rather than developing individuals or teams to represent the association. Throughout the year coaches will assist teachers and students to reach some of their sporting goals and hope to see a marginal improvement not only in each students ability on the basketball court but also in their attitude, work ethic and enthusiasm in life.

Hey Kids, if you're looking for a great way to have fun with your friends then why not give Basketball Australia's new Aussie Hoops program a try!

The Aussie Hoops program is a great way for you and your friends to try basketball and keep yourself fit and healthy at the same time.

 If you're aged between 6 and 12 and enjoy having fun with your friends, then Aussie Hoops is for you! You get to play heaps of fun games as you try out new basketball skills and it's a great way of gradually trying competitive basketball too. There are four different levels of Aussie Hoops for you to try so no matter if you're a total beginner or have already mastered the fundamentals of the game, you can give it a go.

Duncan (or 'Dunk-in' as he is affectionately known), the Aussie Hoops Kangaroo, says that it's important for kids to get out and play sport. "Don't just sit at home in front of the TV or computer," says Duncan. "We all need to exercise to keep us fit and healthy and the best way to get exercise and have fun is to play sport. Come and try basketball with me and the rest of the Aussie Hoops gang!"
