Junior Representative Information

The Illawarra Basketball Association (IBA) Representative Program provides athletes the chance to compete beyond local competition and develop through a clear pathway to State, National, and elite levels of basketball.

​

2026 IBA Representative Handbook

​

The Handbook is the foundation of the program. It sets out the policies, expectations, and standards that guide every athlete, coach, and family in the IBA Representative Program.

Before trialling, all players and parents (if under 18) must confirm they have read and understood the Handbook.

 

This ensures:

• Everyone knows the rules, standards, and commitments.

• There is transparency around trials, team selection, and conduct.

• Families understand the support structures available (e.g. Nest Egg, exemptions).

The Illawarra Blueprint

In addition to the Handbook, the program is guided by the Illawarra Blueprint – Style of Play (SOP). This document is for coaches, but the values in it are central to the culture we want all players and families to understand:

Selfless – the team comes first.

Hard Work – effort every time, on and off the court.

Commitment – regular attendance, dedication to improvement.

Humility – respect in both victory and defeat.

These values underpin how we coach, how we play, and how we represent Illawarra.​

Squad Lists & Updates

Trial Squad Lists will be published here by Tuesday 5pm after each trial.

If your child is not listed, unfortunately they have not progressed in the process.

​

Please note that players may be cut from the trial squad at any time during the trial period.

​

Head Coach appointments for each age group will also be posted here.
